I previously used Hoover's "Deep Cleansing" detergent (green bottles). I didn't see a difference between the results I previously got and now with this "Platinum" and "Professional-Strength" version. I even used this product at double strength on high-traffic areas. The particularly dirty areas needed a second-pass; the spots I missed with a pre-treating spray were still there. Since the "Deep Cleansing" detergent is available in 128oz bottles for about the same price as this 50oz bottle, I recommend the "Deep Cleansing" detergent. Note: I used boiling hot water with a "Hoover F5912900 TurboPower 5200 SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge". I followed the tips from the reviews for the SteamVac and was very happy with the deep cleaning results from the SteamVac. I know my one-star review for this detergent is an anomaly from the other reviews, but using the exact same SteamVac and methods, but... It is AMAZING the difference in the color & the softness of the carpet. The 4 for 3 promo is the best way to go for pricing purposes. |
